About Toro Textile Recycling
Toro Textile Recycling is a Houston, Texas wholesale exporter of used clothing, used footwear, toys, housewares and store return goods. We collect and purchase at source in the United States, grade and bale in our own facility, and ship by the container to importers, wholesalers and market traders worldwide.
We work at one point in a long chain. Clothing, footwear and household goods that have finished their life with one owner in the United States are collected, sorted for usability, baled to specification, and sold to buyers who know exactly what their market will pay for. Done properly, everyone in that chain is better off and a great deal of usable product stays out of the ground. Done carelessly, a buyer pays for a container of goods they cannot sell. The difference is almost entirely in the grading.
How we source
Buying at source rather than from other exporters means we control what enters the bale and can hold composition steady from one container to the next.
How we grade
Every item passes a usability check before it is assigned to a grade. Sorted products are then separated by category, gender and quality against written standards our graders work to daily — the same standards published on our product pages. Grading is where a container is won or lost, so it is the part of this business we invest in most.
Why Houston
We load a short drive from the Port of Houston, one of the largest export gateways in the United States, with direct services to Latin America, West Africa and beyond. That shortens the road leg on every container and keeps inland haulage off your invoice.
Who We Work With
Our buyers run micro businesses, market stalls, wholesale depots, retail chains and their own sorting operations across all continents. Some take one container a year; some take multiple containers a month. We quote both the same way.
