Terms of Sale

These terms apply to goods sold by Toro Textile Recycling unless we have signed something different with you. They are written in plain language on purpose — an export sale goes wrong most often because one side assumed something the other never agreed. Last updated 6 September 2026.

Quotations

Every quotation is issued in writing and states the unit price and the basis it is quoted on, the quantity, the bale count, the net weight, the Incoterm, the estimated freight to your port and the total. Prices move with the market and with grade availability, so a quotation is valid for the period stated on it and is subject to the goods remaining available when you confirm.

Placing an order

When you confirm a quotation we issue a proforma invoice. The proforma is the order: the goods, grades, quantities, price, Incoterm and destination on it are what we are agreeing to supply.

Payment

A 50% advance confirms the order and starts processing of the load. The balance is due at the time of loading, against the loading photographs and the draft bill of lading. All prices are quoted and payable in US dollars. Payment is by bank transfer; we accept ACH and wire transfers on all orders. Documents are released once payment has cleared.

Loading and shipment

Typical time from cleared payment to a loaded container is 5 to 7 business days, plus sailing time to your port. We confirm dates in writing and tell you immediately if anything changes. We load to fill the container you have paid for; we do not ship short.

Incoterms

We quote EXWORKS from the Port of Houston as standard. Tell us at quotation stage if you need a different basis and we will confirm what we can offer for your destination. Title and risk pass according to the Incoterm stated on your invoice.

Freight

We can arrange freight on your behalf. Where we do, full freight payment is required before the container is released under your name. You are equally welcome to nominate your own forwarder.

What you are buying

These are used goods, collected at source and sold by grade. Variation between bales is inherent to the trade and is not a defect. Credential clothing in particular is sold exactly as donated — unopened, unsorted, un-culled and ungraded — and its contents are by definition unknown to both of us. Sorted and graded products are sold as described on their product page.

Inspection before you commit

Before you confirm, you receive photographs and video of the actual goods being offered. Buyers who can travel are welcome to inspect at 6110 Griggs Rd, Houston, Texas by appointment. We do not send samples — the inspection is the substitute for it, and it shows you far more than a sample would.

Documents

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, fumigation certificate and certificate of origin are supplied as standard. Tell us at quotation stage if your customs authority requires anything further and we will confirm whether we can supply it.

Import compliance is the buyer's responsibility

Several countries restrict or prohibit the import of used clothing and used footwear, and rules change. You are responsible for holding any import license your country requires, for paying duties and taxes at destination, and for satisfying yourself that the goods may lawfully be imported before you place the order. We will tell you what we know about your market, but we cannot warrant the import position of a country we do not operate in.

Changes to these terms

The terms that apply to your order are the ones published here on the date of your proforma invoice. We may update this page for future orders.

Ask Before You Order, Not After

If anything here is unclear for your market, ask us. We would rather answer the question than have you assume.
